Kitty Garratt graduated from Central Saint Martins with an MA in Fashion in 2019. Since her graduation, she was selected by Stavros Karelis to present her work thorough an immersive installation, for both Paris and Copenhagen editions. Her work embodies a marriage between contemporary and classic; themes of medieval references and traditional craft techniques are balanced with more modern fabrics and finishings. Having studied on the knitwear pathway for both BA and MA at CSM her cutting is almost entirely self-taught, which often results in a more spontaneous and experimental approach to silhouette.
The limited edition capsule collection created exclusively for MACHINE-A began exploring imagery of female pilots and horse riders who were wearing trousers for the first time, toying with larger silhouettes and finding ways to build them and their history into garments that people want to wear to day.
